WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CONTACT MY SCHOOL COUNSELOR?
Email is by far the best way to get in touch with your school counselor. You can find your school counselor by last name and their email on the home page by clicking here. We respond to emails quickly and will call you down at our earliest convenience (exceptions to this are during the first weeks at school while counselors are working on schedule changes).
WHEN DO I REGISTER FOR CLASSES?
In December the school counselors present to 7th and 8th graders to go over registration and hand out the forms. You will take these home and fill them out with your parents. Class schedules are finalized around a week before school starts and you will be notified when schedules are ready. New students find registration information here
CAN I TAKE THE SAME CLASS TWICE?
No. The only classes that are allowed to be taken twice are Body Toning or Weight Training. However, they cannot be taken together in the same semester.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT CLASSES TO CHOOSE-WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Check out our course catalogs-8th grade click here-9th grade click here. Ask your friends, siblings, or neighbors what classes they have taken and enjoyed. Or simply try something new! It is good for us to get out of our comfort zone sometimes, and now is the time to explore your interests. You may discover a new interest, or discover that a class you thought you would enjoy wasn't for you. That's okay!
WHEN WILL MY SCHEDULE BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR?
You will be notified via email when schedules are available to view on powerschool. This can be anywhere between a few days to a week before school starts. Please pay attention to details in the email you will receive regarding our policy around schedule changes.
CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO MY CLASS SCHEDULE?
After the first week of school Schedule change requests will NOT be granted unless there is an error or mistake on a students schedule. (To read over the entire new class change policy for the 2024-2025 School Year click here).
All students and parents will be emailed a google form on a specific date before the start of the school year where they can request a schedule change when no error has been made. Once school starts, students are able to come to the counseling office and ask for a class change request form (paper copy) to have parents sign and bring back DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL ONLY. After this time no change requests will be granted.
Please remember class change requests are not guaranteed and are granted when they benefit the schedule in some way (help balance class sizes, reduce a class size that is too large, etc.). You will be notified via email if we were unable to make the change.
WHY AM I CHARGED A FEE FOR SCHEDULE CHANGES?
Creating class schedules for over 900 students is incredibly time consuming. Much preparation is done in advance to ensure students get the top elective classes of their choice. Please note that students coming in to ask for schedule changes takes away important time from the counselors, and makes it difficult for teachers who are readying their classes. We charge this small fee ($10) to help discourage class changes for this reason.
All money collected is used to benefit students at our school through counseling services.
THERE WAS A MISTAKE ON MY SCHEDULE THAT NEEDS CHANGED. WILL I STILL BE CHARGED A FEE?
No. When changes to a schedule need to be made due to an error, missing class, etc. there is no fee charged.
CAN I TAKE A CLASS ONLINE?
